Back to school

                                        Wildcat News                       August 2019

Welcome to the start of the 2019-2020 school year!  We hope you enjoyed the summer break and were able to spend time with family and friends.  Greeley Elementary teachers and staff have been working hard to have our building clean and ready for our new year!   If you are new to our school, you may have many questions about events throughout the year.  This monthly newsletter, notes from your child’s teacher, and checking the school calendar are great ways to stay current.  This newsletter will be posted on our school webpage at   Just click on Greeley Campus and go to the newsletter tab at the top.  Our teachers also have classroom pages on the website and will post schedules, homework, projects and much more.

If you haven’t enrolled your child yet, please do soon as soon as possible so we can have desks,  chairs, lockers, etc., ready in advance!

August 12     Greeley Open House (preschool-6th grades)   5:00 p.m.   Meet your teacher, see the classrooms!

August 14     First Day of Classes for Kindergarten-6th grades  School breakfast is from 7:45-8:00 a.m. each day.  The breakfast and lunch menu can be found under the cafeteria tab on the main page of the district website

August 19     First Day of Preschool at Greeley (a.m. and p.m. sessions)

August 19    Greeley PTO Meeting  5:15 p.m.  Please consider being a part of our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).  Meetings are held monthly, are listed on the school calendar, and usually last about an hour.  You are not required to hold any officer’s position;  its just helpful to have new ideas, thoughts, and opinions!   Our PTO sponsors events throughout the year like: Buck Bingo Night, Halloween Carnival (yes, it’s back this year!),  Christmas Store, Gingerbread Houses, and much more.  Proceeds go back to our school and students.

August 22     Kindergarten Family Night   5:00 p.m.   This is the second year for this state-required evening of activities which helps us evaluate the educational needs of each Kindergartner.  Parents will be asked a few questions related to their child and everyone can enjoy pizza!  The event should last approximately an hour.
