Congratulations to our school spelling bee winners:   Isaac Richards and Wyatt Bryan!   They went on to represent Greeley at the Anderson County spelling bee on Friday, January 24th.  We appreciate their hard work and we’re very proud of them!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

All-School conferences:  Thursday, February 6 from 4:00-8:00 pm.

All-Elementary conferences:  Tuesday, February 11  from 4:00-8:00 pm.

We’ve had very good parent attendance for conferences in the past and we hope to have 100% attendance this year.  It is important to keep the parent-teacher connection, and by attending conferences it shows your child that school is important to you!    If you need to re-schedule, please call the office at 785-867-3460.  Conferences are for Preschool through 6th grade.

Spring Pictures:  Wednesday, February 12

Spring pictures are more casual and often bring out your child’s personality.  K-6 students may bring a small prop to use in their picture.  A prop can be a favorite toy, medal, award, baseball, collectible etc.  Props cannot be a weapon, alive (family pet), and must be easily transported if he/she rides the bus.   It will be up to each child to have their prop ready when it’s their turn for photos.  We will not make phone calls to parents if the prop is forgotten at home that day.

Preschool students have spring pictures too, but should NOT bring a prop.  Their photo session goes much better without one.

Buck Bingo Night:      Friday, February 28   Sponsored by Greeley PTO, Buck Bingo Night is a fun way to support the PTO and our school.  Bingo cards are 4 for $1.00   Win great prizes!
Concessions available!

Yearbook order forms will be handed out to parents at conference time.

The school yearbook is 20 pages of full color photos documenting our activities throughout the year.  It’s a great keepsake for kids as they spend up to 10 years at our building if they attend preschool and go through 6th grade!  Think how much they change each year.  The cost is $17.00 and can be paid by cash or check (payable to Greeley PTO).   We need 50 orders to be able to get our book published each year, so every order counts!   Deadline to order:   March 13, 2020.

Running Club for K-6th:

Mondays, beginning March 9th from 3:15 to 4:00 pm.  Consent forms will go home March 2nd and need to be signed and returned before your child may participate.  Running Club members will be training for the Munchkin Marathon in Olathe on April 18, 2020. The marathon is optional and your child can still be a part of running club without competing in the marathon. This year there is a $5.00 fee to participate in the Munchkin Marathon and it must be paid in advance.  Details about the Munchkin Marathon will go home with your child later in March.  Running Club is free and will meet on the following dates:  March 9, 23, 30, April 6, and 13.  (marathon on April 18th).  Your child’s ride each Monday needs to be at the school promptly by 4:00 pm.

NO SCHOOL:   Monday, Februrary 17th

Valentine Parties:  Friday, February 14 @ 2:30 pm.  We will not have an all-school party for Valentine’s Day.  Each class will have its own party in the classroom.   Contact your child’s teacher if you haven’t signed up but would like to help.

Jump Rope for Heart:     Wednesday, February 19th.   (a date-change from what’s listed on the school calendar)  Activities will take place during P.E. class.

Upcoming Events:   Kindergarten Round-Up.  Children who turn 5 years old on or before August 31, 2020 are eligible to attend Kindergarten next fall.  If you have a child or know of a family with a child who will be attending Kindergarten next fall please have them contact the school office @ 785-867-3460.    We are taking appointments now for Kindergarten Round-Up on Thursday, March 26, 2020 from 8:30-10:15 a.m.

Wish List:  Kleenex, anti-bacterial wipes, children’s sweat pants with elastic cuff (size 4-12) in red, black, navy;  gently used tennis shoes all children’s sizes, new or gently used socks (all sizes).

HOW ‘BOUT THOSE CHIEFS!   We had fun supporting the Kansas City Chiefs football team in their run to the Super Bowl!  Thank you for helping your child participate in Spirit Week, wearing Chiefs gear, and “liking” our Cheer the Chiefs videos.  We are a small but mighty school and we had a part in this historic time for the Chiefs!
