March is “Read Across America” month- Wednesday, March 2 we will have a guest from the Daughters of the American Revolution organization visiting our school to read to all students. This should be a fun afternoon activity beginning at 1:00 pm and will include a snack.
Dr. Seuss- Thursday, March 3 2:30 pm. All students will get to enjoy hearing the classic Dr Seuss story, “Green Eggs and Ham.” For additional English, Language Arts (ELA) activities for March, see the calendar of activities going home with all K-6 children!
Spirit Week- March 7-11 Gear up for State Assessments with Spirit Week!
Monday: Backwards Day (Testing can be confusing!) Wear your shirt or sweatshirt backwards. Tuesday: Career Day (Dress as you would for what you’d like to be one day), Wednesday: Yellow Day (You are bright & will do well on state assessments!) Thursday: Baseball Hat Day (Put on your thinking caps!) Friday: Pajama Day (no slippers) (Get plenty of rest before your tests).
PTO Meeting: Tuesday, March 8 @ 5:15 pm in the lunch room. Parents please consider attending the meeting. Your ideas and opinions on upcoming fundraising events are always appreciated.
SW Dairy Trailer: Thursday, March 10 9:00 a.m. How exciting! A mobile dairy classroom will be coming to our school with a real dairy cow! This presentation will educate children about the dairy industry and include milking a cow.
End of 3rd Quarter: Friday, March 11.
Buck Bingo: Friday, March 11 Volunteers Needed! Doors open at 5:30. Bingo from 6:00-8:00 pm. Concessions available. If you can help, please contact Anna Miller at 785-448-8305 or call the school office at 785-867-3460.
Spring Break March 14-18
Pride Assembly: Third quarter Pride Assembly Wednesday, March 23 2:30 p.m. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades will have a short program. Report cards will go home with students.
State Assessment Testing Begins March 23
Kindergarten Round-Up: Thursday, March 24 8:30-10:00 a.m. If you have a child or know of someone who has a child turning 5 years old on or before August 31, 2022 they are eligible to attend Kindergarten this fall. To schedule an appointment for a Kindergarten Round-Up screening, please call the Greeley School Office at 785-867-3460. Please allow 45-60 mins for the screenings and paperwork. Please bring a copy of your child’s state certified birth certificate, recent health physical, and immunization log.
Yearbooks: Thank you to all the families who have reserved a copy of our school’s yearbook. They should arrive in early May. These are great keepsakes for your child and fun to look at over the years. We try very hard to feature every child multiple times in the book. If you haven’t reserved a copy yet, but would like to, please call the school office. Payment must be made in advance of receiving a copy.
